Chargers first
The laptop charger is the thing left behind most. Pack it before the clothes, and check that its cable is with it.

Choose clothes around one color so every shirt works with every pair of pants. Two pairs of shoes are enough.

Laptop, chargers, documents and one shirt go in the cabin bag. A late suitcase should not cost you the first morning.

How do I keep a suit from wrinkling in a suitcase?
Fold the jacket inside out along the shoulders, lay it on top of everything else, and hang it up as soon as you arrive. A travel steamer, or ten minutes in a steamy bathroom, takes out what is left.
Can I pack for a three day business trip in a carry-on?
Yes. Wear the jacket and the heavier shoes on the plane, pack two shirts for every pair of pants, and keep toiletries in travel sizes.
